Discussion

Status:Active, open to new members
Organiser:
When: On Friday mornings
2nd Friday
Venue: United Reform Church Lounge

The Discussion Group meets on the 2nd Friday of the month, starting at 10.00am, for approximately 2 hours. We meet at a members home.

This is a very successful group, and we all look forward to the next meeting. We are a friendly and vocal group, interested in hearing other members' views and opinions. Every meeting has so far lasted 2 hours.

We cover a wide range of topics: for example, we have recently looked at Immigration and Borders, the Cashless Society and, most recently, the current situation in the Middle East (especially Israel vs Hamas). Our November topic is "Britain's non-migrant poor".

These may sound a bit "heavy", but as members are encouraged to offer topics of their own choice for discussion, "the possibilities are endless.....".

Our membership is currently 12, and this is probably the most we can accommodate if everyone is to get "air time", so we are currently at full strength. HOWEVER, THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY OF SOME PLACES COMING UP IN THIS GROUP, SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT THE GROUP ORGANISER.

If we can't fit you in, and you're really keen to get involved, maybe you would consider setting up a "Discussion 2" Group. Being a Group Organiser is not a problem, and the results are very rewarding. Please contact the Tiptree U3A Groups Co-ordinator for further information.
